April Housing Celebrates Grand Reopening of Waterford at Goldmark Apartments, an Affordable Community in North Dallas
Investing more than $200 million to upgrade and improve housing in Texas since 2024.
DALLAS, Texas – July 24, 2026 – April Housing, Blackstone Real Estate’s affordable housing portfolio company, today announced the grand reopening of Waterford at Goldmark Apartments, a 220-unit affordable housing community in Dallas, Texas, investing more than $20 million in a community-wide renovation.
In partnership with the Dallas Housing Finance Corporation and the City of Dallas, this preservation transaction provides senior residents 55+ with access to stable and affordable housing at this property for at least an additional 30 years. As part of the transaction, April converted more than 50 units from market-rate to affordable status, adding to the supply of affordable housing available for Texas residents.
This is the second community April Housing has fully renovated in Dallas this year, following the unveiling of the upgraded West Virginia Park Apartments in Southwest Dallas in January.
Located at 13695 Goldmark Drive, Waterford at Goldmark now features modernized one-, two-, and three-bedroom townhome-style apartments, along with revamped amenities, including the clubhouse and pool.
A grand reopening event was held on-site on July 23, with attendance from April Housing leadership, Blackstone Real Estate, PNC Bank, as well as officials from Dallas County, City of Dallas, and the Dallas Housing Finance Corporation.

April Housing completed significant renovations designed to improve the day-to-day resident experience across the property’s common spaces and complete home transformations in 220 residential units, including:
- Renovated kitchens and bathrooms, with new fixtures, energy-efficient appliances, and lighting throughout.
- Replaced all hot water heaters and split systems with energy-efficient models, significantly reducing energy consumption.
- Modernized community spaces, including two updated playgrounds, a pool, and gym facilities.
- The installation of rooftop solar not only offsets the property’s electricity usage but also provides critical backup power during weather-related grid outages.

April Housing is one of the largest owners and preservers of affordable housing in the U.S. Since 2024, the company has successfully completed the preservation of more than 3,650 affordable homes across the country. Through the preservation program, Blackstone Real Estate has invested more than $350 million in upgrades and improvements for residents at these properties.

Since 2024, the company has preserved the affordability of 2,100 units and invested more than $200 million in capital expenditures to support the resyndication communities in Texas. April Housing is actively pursuing additional resyndication opportunities across its portfolio and is on track to become the country’s largest preserver of affordable housing.
The Waterford of Goldmark Apartments is conveniently located in North Dallas just off Hwy 75 and just north of I-635, near dining, shopping, entertainment, recreation, and medical destinations. The community’s apartment amenities are highlighted by an all-electric amenity package, private balconies and patios, spacious walk-in closets, and in-unit washer/dryer connections.
