Social Impact

At April Housing, we’re committed to positively impacting the lives of our residents and the people in the communities we serve. With the support of employee volunteers and our partners, we proudly host zero-waste tenant appreciation events to provide residents with meaningful support and resources, as well as an opportunity to connect and have fun. We also organize opportunities for our employees to volunteer their time and talents to non-profit organizations in the local community.

3-Time Bracket Battle Winners

April Housing is proud to be three-time consecutive champions in the CoreGiving March Madness Bracket Battle competition. In 2025, with our help, CoreGiving raised $153,035 during the month of March, equating to 765,175 meals for our food-insecure neighbors. We were so proud of our team’s participation, with more than 91% of us donating to the cause and supporting the battle against childhood hunger.

Eaton Fire Recovery - School

April Housing team volunteered with our friends at the Odyssey Charter School to help them move into their temporary learning space after they lost their building in the Eaton fire in Los Angeles. The Blackstone Charitable Foundation donated office space to the school to provide a safe place for learning to over 200 students. We are so proud to help in the restoration of this valued community for both students and faculty during this challenging time.

CoreGiving Day

Each year, our team joins colleagues from Blackstone and dozens of other portfolio companies to volunteer at one of 100 hunger-relief organizations across 80 cities around the world, supporting families facing food insecurity in our local communities. In 2024, our April team had 89 participants across four states, packing almost 3,000 meal kits!

Project Destined

This spring, we partnered with Project Destined, a social impact program that connects students from all over the globe with leading real estate organizations to learn about the industry. April Housing joins more than 250 other real estate firms and students from 2,000 colleges and universities as part of this influential platform.

Lunch & Letters for the Downtown LA Women’s Center

Our April Housing team came together to assemble 200 sack lunches for the Downtown Women’s Center. Each lunch was accompanied with handwritten notes of encouragement. This volunteer event was part of our annual employee appreciation month activities. Our team was grateful to contribute nourishing meals to those at the Day Center.

Warming hearts and stomachs in Georgia

Early this year, April Housing hosted a resident appreciation event benefiting the residents of one of our multifamily properties outside of Atlanta. With a fresh breakfast from a local food truck, music, and a petting zoo with dozens of animals, it was an event to remember!
